Meet the Member: Phil Prichard of Prichard’s Distillery

Phil Prichard, founder of Prichard's Distillery has built his business on a foundation of craftsmanship, determination, and a passion for doing things his own way. Since opening the distillery on December 19, 1999, Phil has remained committed to producing high-quality spirits while embracing the challenges that come with building something from the ground up.

From the beginning, Phil understood that creating a distillery would require significant investment, patience, and perseverance. “We had a mountain to climb,” he shares. For him, the journey has always been just as important as the outcome. Each challenge has been an opportunity to grow, innovate, and refine the craft that defines Prichard’s Distillery today.

At the heart of the business is a genuine love for the work. Phil continues to approach each day with enthusiasm, sharing that he still wakes up excited to go to work. That energy carries through the entire experience, creating a brand that is not only rooted in quality but also in personality and connection. As Phil puts it, wherever he goes, “it’s a party.”

Prichard’s Distillery is known for its distinctive lineup of spirits, with Sweet Lucy standing out as the best-selling product and a customer favorite. The distillery also offers a traditional Tennessee whiskey that sets itself apart by not using the Lincoln County Process, along with Sweet Lucy Cream, a collection of fine rums, and a new Tennessee white corn whiskey made with locally grown corn. Each product reflects Phil’s commitment to craftsmanship and his willingness to take a unique approach.

Beyond the distillery, Phil values being an active part of the Fayetteville community. He believes strongly in supporting local businesses and contributing to a vibrant downtown. As a member of Fayetteville Main Street, he shares, “Main Street is the heartbeat of the city. We’re very proud to be part of it.”

Through years of dedication, vision, and a love for what he does, Phil Prichard has created more than a distillery—he has built a lasting legacy that continues to bring people together and celebrate the spirit of community.
